If you have not been somehow living under a massive rock of ignorance, you would know about the fact that Bollywood is doing a remake of highly acclaimed Hollywood film ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ based on a very famous coming of age novel by the author John Green. TFIOS is a story about two young adults with cancer falling in love with each other.
The rumors of the remake have been doing rounds on social media since last few years, but recently it was made official when Fox Star Studios revealed the cast for the film. Sushant Singh Rajput from M.S Dhoni’s biopic is playing the role of Augustus and Sanjana Sanghi is playing the role of Hazel Grace – I wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t know who’s Sanjana Sanghi. It’s her debut film as the lead actor. She also played the role of Nargis’ younger sister in Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar.
Mukesh Chhabra is directing the Indian remake of TFIOS.
Author John Green himself expressed his excitement for this project.
I can't believe this is happening. Amazing! ⚡️ “Bollywood remake of The Fault in Our Stars confirms its female lead”https://t.co/3y8avVH8Fj

Recently, the makers shared the first photo from the sets. The caption confirms that shooting for the film has officially begun.
Tbh given the track record of Bollywood, it’s gonna be a massive disaster. Bollywood is NOT good with remakes, let alone remakes of highly acclaimed Hollywood films. Besides, TFIOS has so much popularity in India that it would be extremely difficult to recreate the hype and success. People are already afraid that Bollywood might ruin the magic of TFIOS with their sappy emotional drama.
Although, Kal Ho Naa Ho released in 2003 had a similar plot to The Fault In Our Stars, but it’s also considered one of the best Bollywood movies ever made, also given the talented the star cast in it.
Are you excited for the film? if yes, do let us know in the comments below.
